Inpatient Rehabilitation

It’s late in your shift at the hospital. Suddenly you get a call that a patient is on the way to the emergency room, via ambulance either conscious or semi-conscious with what appears to be a traumatic brain injury.
As a medical professional, a scenario like this one may not be foreign territory to you. As   a paramedic, neurologist, neurosurgeon, or attending nurse, you are that patient's first hope of survival in the event of a traumatic brain injury.
The purpose of this page is to inform, empower and inspire survivors of traumatic brain injuries and those who care and treat them. Much of the following is full of suggestions that would allow you as the medical professional to better understand your patient. Most of the procedural details are purely informational(i.e. things I picked up from the skilled doctors and nurses that treated my traumatic brain Injury), all of which I hope will allow you as the medical professional to think outside the boundaries of your perspective to further enhance the life of your brain injury survivor.
